A workshop on wintering birds will take place at the Centro de Interpretação da Serra da Estrela (Seia, Portugal) on 20 and 21 February. The main aims of this training course are to raise awareness of birds biodiversity that winter in the Serra da Estrela region, and also to learn about their migration and ability to adapt to the cold.
In the highest areas with more adversities, there are species that are well adapted to cold weather as the Prunella collaris and Plectrophenax nivalis. In addition to these it is possible to observe the Turdus merula, Pyrrhula pyrrhula, Carduelis spinus, Anthus spinoletta, Turdus pilaris, Turdus iliacus and other species.
